Depression is a mood disorder that affects the mind and body. There are those who have the blues now and then, and that's natural, it comes from tension and stress. Then there are those who suffer severe depression and its painful and overwhelming.
Woman are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression. Woman who survived childhood abuse are most lightly to suffer more from this disorder. Considering the abuse, it's no wonder.
